Narbheram Group is almost synonymous to the growth of the steel township, Jamshedpur, taking pride in the trade and commerce of this picturesque city and the states of Bihar and Jharkhand.

Its history dates back to early twenties of last century when Late Seth Narbheram Hansraj Kamani came from Amreli in Gujarat to settle down in Jamshedpur almost on the advent of Tata Steel, the first steel plant in the country.

  • He pioneered the Automobile Trade in Bihar and obtained the dealership for Ford Motor Car Co. After India gained independence, Narbherams obtained the dealership for FIAT cars & FARGO trucks, Jeep vehicles of Mahindra & Mahindra and the two wheeler Lambretta scooters manufactured by API. The group is in the business of automobile dealership since 1927.
  • For three generations, Narbherams are in the core business of automotive dealership and servicing - not just for Jamshedpur but also for Bihar and Jharkhand.
  • Along with active involvement with trade and commerce, Seth Narbheram’s social consciousness was revealed through various acts of philanthropy. He founded the Jain Sthanakvasi Samaj which is today involved in the social and educational development of the community at large. He also founded the Narbheram Hansraj Kamani School which currently is one of the leading schools not only in Jamshedpur but in the State of Jharkhand.
  • Seth N.H. Kamani’s son, Late Prafulchandra N. Kamani inherited his business empire and further developed by incorporating and pioneering companies in fields of travel, real estate, leasing and finance and bottling for Coca Cola Company.
  • In continuation of the philosophy of philanthropy inherited from his father, Seth N. H. Kamani, he founded the N.H. Kamani Charity Trust which today provides financial help and support to the under privileged in the society at large by way of education, medical facility, rural development etc. The responsibility of this trust is now being carried on by Late P.N. Kamani’s younger son, Sri Jay Praful Kamani who continues to promote acts of philanthropy inherited from his forefathers. Sri P.N. Kamani died prematurely in an air accident at Ahmadabad in 1988.
  • The responsibility of carrying on the legacy fell on the young shoulders of Mr. Jay P. Kamani at the early age of 20.
  • Jay P. Kamani, a Commerce graduate took upon himself the challenge. He has followed the guiding principle of his late illustrious father – “Quality above everything else” and has used his fore sightedness and dynamism to help Narbherams to grow from strength to strength.
  • Apart from the traditional family interest in running successfully the business consisting of Automobile Dealership, he further pioneered Non Banking Finance Operations, and also diversified into Electrical Manufacturing and Logistics Solutions to large Enterprises.
